This Shipping & Payment Policy ("Policy") governs all online purchases, orders, and financial transactions made through the Batemans Bay Cycles website. By purchasing components, accessories, apparel, workshops, or bicycles from us, you agree to be bound by the terms detailed below.
1. Payment Terms & Methods
We provide secure transaction gateways to process online orders. All transactions are calculated, displayed, and charged in Australian Dollars (AUD), inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST) where applicable.
1.1 Accepted Forms of Payment: • Credit and Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
• Digital Wallets: Apple Pay and Google Pay.
• Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL): Approved third-party financing structures options visible at checkout.
• Click & Collect Options: In-store collection orders may choose to pay online securely or select in-store processing upon pickup via EFTPOS or cash.
1.2 Security & Fraud Prevention:
All credit card data is handled through encrypted, PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment gateways. We do not store full credit card details on our local servers. To protect against fraudulent activity, we reserve the right to flag, pause, or cancel transactions that display high-risk characteristics, pending identification checks.
2. Shipping & Delivery Framework
2.1 Standard Dispatch Timelines:
Orders for parts, gear, and apparel are typically packed and dispatched within 1 to 3 business days, subject to seasonal demand and inventory availability. You will receive an automated tracking notification once your package leaves our fulfillment center.
2.2 Delivery Freight & Costs:
• Shipping fees are calculated at checkout based on weight, dimensions, and destination postcodes within Australia.
• Heavy, bulky, or oversized shipments (such as bike trailers, wheels, or workstands) may incur specialized courier surcharges.
• Delivery timeframes given at checkout are honest estimates provided by our couriers (e.g., Australia Post, Sendle, or specialized freight). We are not legally liable for external transit delays beyond our reasonable control.
3. Complete Bicycle & Dangerous Goods Restrictions
3.1 Complete Bicycle Orders (Warranty Protection):
To ensure rider safety and preserve valid manufacturer warranties, complete bicycles purchased online generally require professional assembly. Unless specifically agreed otherwise in writing, complete bicycles are restricted to our Click & Collect service at our physical storefront. If a bicycle is shipped directly to an interstate consumer, factory warranties may be limited unless the customer provides proof of assembly by a certified professional bicycle mechanic.
3.2 E-Bike Batteries & Dangerous Goods:
Lithium-ion batteries exceeding 100Wh (including integrated E-Bike batteries) are classified as Class 9 Dangerous Goods under Australian transport regulations. These products cannot be shipped via standard air freight. Consequently, lithium batteries and complete E-Bikes must travel via specialized road freight carriers, which may result in longer transit times and regional freight delivery exclusions.
4. Title, Risk & Transit Damage
Legal title and risk of loss or damage to the goods passes to you immediately upon delivery of the items to your nominated delivery address. If a package arrives visibly damaged or tampered with by the carrier:
1. Take photographic evidence of the unopened packaging immediately.
2. Notify our support team via email within 48 hours of receipt.
3. Keep all packaging and products intact while a carrier investigation is opened.
5. Amendments to this Policy We reserve the right to alter payment options, delivery rates, or carrier agreements without prior notification. The terms governing your order will strictly be those active on the date of checkout.
